County 4-H Elects Two Posture Queens of 1963
The County 4-H Council named two Posture Queens for 1963 at the field day at Long Park. Senior queen Mary Ann Wolgemuth of Bareville and junior queen Susanne Mumma of Manheim R1 were chosen from over 50 contestants, crowned by 1962 winners Kay Ream and Lois Johnson.

Miss Wolgemuth twenty represented the New Holland Community 4-H club and is a Conestoga Valley High School graduate employed as a laboratory technician at Lancaster Laboratories. Miss Mumma will be a Hempfield High School freshman representing the county 4-H Guernsey club. Pasture Queens judged on carriage appearance personality and poise. Safety education and enforcement are core to farm safety. farm fire losses rose since 1940 reaching 1638 million in 1961, with operator error as the main cause.
