DHIA Record Machines Complex at Penn State
A picture story explains the new DHIA machine record keeping system. The tabulating division of Penn State’s accounting department, led by William Dye, will run the system. A magnetic drum data processing machine due this fall will speed work by about one third and cut about 30 steps. It reduces punching from many cards to a single card for production costs. The drum can remember up to 20 000 items, allowing continuous data flow into accounting for improved efficiency.
