Phase of bacteria linked to chronic poultry respiratory disease
Research at Penn State suggests chronic respiratory disease in chickens is not caused by pleuropneumonia like organisms. Over 20 PPLO strains reverted to bacteria after transfers, indicating CRD may stem from bacteria lifecycle forms. Findings reported at Northeastern Conference of Laboratory Workers in Pullorum Disease Control.
