Samuel Dum of East Petersburg was reelected president of the Red Rose Dairy Herd Imp Association at its annual reorganizational meeting. Robert Breneman of Strasburg was named vice president and Jacob Houser Jr of Lampeter became treasurer while Clair Griffith of Quarryville was chosen secretary. Milk SNF Testing Initiative In Lancaster County

Everett Newswanger reports a state funded milk testing program started in 1963 by Red Rose Dairy Herd Improvement Association and Pennsylvania State University to measure solids not fat SNF. The project aims to study inheritance and aid breeding, with 52 Lancaster County herds totaling 2756 cows involved across 18 Jersey Ayrshire and other breeds.

Volunteer workers report the Farm and Home Foundation campaign has raised 121 200 in pledges and cash gifts as of Wednesday with 1 570 farm families and agricultural businesses contributing.
