Measurement of Hay Value Needs By Producers and Buyers
Dr. John E. Baylor of Pennsylvania State University told the National Hay Association convention in Troy Michigan that hay marketing is big business and pricing should reflect feeding value rather than barter. He noted 1970 U S hay production in 18 states at 1914 million tons worth about 1.5 billion today and urged a reliable inexpensive chemical test for nutritive value. He stressed buyers must know exactly what they are paying for.
