Goldrich Apricot Introduced by USDA and Washington Stations

The Goldrich apricot variety, an early ripening fresh market option, was developed by USDA's Agricultural Research Service and Washington State University's Agricultural Experiment Station. Renamed from Sungiant in 1971 due to a trademark conflict, Goldrich replaces Wenatchee for earlier, more uniform ripening, firmer fruit and greater winter-hardiness. Limited scion wood is available from T K Toyama in Prosser, Washington, though no trees are distributed by USDA or the Washington experiment station.
