Dairymen OK Base-Excess Plan in Delaware Valley
U S Department of Agriculture announces amendment to the federal order milk marketing area to adopt a base-excess pricing plan. The plan, effective August 1 after a two thirds vote, ties farmer base to average deliveries and prices excess milk lower. The amendment follows a June Philadelphia public hearing requested by the Inter-State Milk Producers' Cooperative.
