After two days of 4 H daily events at Guernsey Barn Pavilion Lancaster County Holstein Open Show crowned grand champion Andfar Astronaut Cinderella owned by Penn Springs Farm Elizabethtown with reserve to Fought Land Eagle Ingra owned by Russell L. Kline who also won reserve senior champion and best udder. Blossomelle Holsteins owned by Herbert and Rhelda Royer Lancaster won premier breeder and J Mowrey Frey Jr. Lancaster won premier exhibitor. Donna Akers Quarryville exhibited the junior.

Ephrata area youth Rick Pfautz won the grand and lightweight champion titles at the Lancaster County FFA Hog Show held July 29 at the Lancaster Stockyards. His Duroc hog topped more than 150 hogs, selling for 1.73 a pound to Penn Packing Co. Trophy honors were shared with Penn Packing representative T Kenneth Emery. Cliff Charles exhibited the Penn Manor reserve grand champion.
