U.S. District Judge Halbert C. Woodward issued a temporary restraining order and injunction against Lamesa Independent School District ruling that Lamesa High School student James Caldwell be readmitted. The judge found the board failed to follow its policy requiring parental notice and a hearing before expulsion, and ordered the hearing to occur before the State Commissioner of Education.
