Jury Civil Docket Set for 106th District Court in Dawson County

The 106th District Court in Dawson County schedules 27 civil cases for jury trial beginning Monday at 10 a.m. Judge Truett Smith presides as District Judge, with several criminal cases possible if civil matters wrap. A total of 37 non jury cases are set for trial on Dec 29 as the court aims to clear dormant matters. Meanwhile, Dawson County cotton growers report 146,870 bales weighed so far this season with two weeks remaining in harvest.

Production Testing At County Prospect Near Key

H L Brown Jr of Midland continued production tests at No 1 Smith a Dawson County Mississippian prospect 52 miles east of Key. Flow through perforated intervals at 9 934 9 988 feet produced 27 barrels of oil in 52 hours before pressure buildup and shut in. Also Green & Michaelson Producing Co tested No 1 Mathis wildcat west northwest of Flower Grove field with flow back oil through perforations 8 899 9 434 feet as ginning nears. Agricultural agent Lee Roy Colgan projected county cotton harvest end by Dec 15 with potential to exceed 150 000 bales amid shifting demand and fiber quality trends. Plans note earlier gloom and later improvements in cotton outlook.
