Fort Lyon Canal Co to Build Copper Wire Telephone Line
The Fort Lyon Canal Co at Las Animas approved a contract with Great Plains Storage Co to construct a first class copper wire telephone line along the canal from the headgate to King reservoir then Lamar Las Animas and La Junta with stations at each town and patrol division. Lamar will host the line headquarters and materials are already en route for early completion. Work will occur with minimal water disruption and zero turn out before October 15 unless a good flow arrives sooner.
