East Peru residents Annan Fennimore and L B Hintt moved in with their new farms and goods. Bird won both heats in the Parker vs Bird trotting race with a best time of 2 47. W G Gay and family travel to Colorado Springs then Joplin Missouri. Corner stone ceremony at the Methodist church occurred. Holly school’s baseball team buys good equipment and aims to recruit. About 75 was raised for S Collins after a child’s death. Collins plans no county suit. Walter H. Morris returns from Dodge City after inspecting cantaloupe cars for M O Coggins. Granada Melon Growers report 17 cars shipped, net to growers $2650. Buffalo Fancy Cantaloupe Growers Union ships 21 cars with varied returns per crate.

Cattlemen to Build Their Own Packing Plant

C F Morse of the Kansas City and Denver stock yards companies discusses a Denver story about a national packing plant owned by cattlemen. He notes talks with J W Springer of the National Livestock Association, the proposed capital of 10 to 15 million dollars, and says the stock yards would support such an enterprise with the same regard given to past companies.
