Eleventh Anniversary Celebration of Lamar Town Events
The Lamar celebration marked the town's eleventh anniversary with a day of races and a twilight ball game against Granada. Ed Silver won the 100 yard dash, Will Yockey beat Floyd Place in the firemen's medal, and Clem Thoman claimed the potato race championship. A 120 yard hose cart exhibition impressed spectators but a crowd-intervened tug of war broke the rope. Lamar won the ball game 37 to 14, and Granada plans a rematch.
