Voters are invited to a Citizens’ Committee meeting Saturday evening March 15 1890 at 7 o clock to nominate a mayor and three trustees and handle other business. Also agitation over local road improvements plans to abandon current route and reroute east of its present arroyo path. A Lyarry Martell Co troupe to perform The South before the War at the opera house March 18 with praise, plus baking powder demonstration and an all day lunch event at Franz Brothers store drawing crowds.

School Notes From Dist No 30 And Local Districts
A visit to new joint Dist No 30 shows good attendance and harmony in one room school under Mr Hainline. Location for a dedicated building is chosen with plans to construct in summer. Pleasant Valley School reports strong progress with potential extension of term. Wells School pupils show lively interest though attendance drops by about half due to measles fears. A March zephyr from Lamar boosts morale of teachers living in schoolhouses. Prowers County Teachers Association next session will meet in Lamar with topics from Sully's Psychology Parts 3 and 4. Development of Feeling and Will and Character are discussed by local educators. The meeting is expected to be the year’s best.
