New York Bank Statement Describes Cash Loss and Deposits
The New York Financier reports this week that cash loss ties to net gold exports and bank payments to the treasury. Receipts have averaged 3 million weekly from interior areas and treasury disbursements remain heavy. Government deposits into the treasury may strengthen funds, while national bank clearings show subdued loan demand and a bright spot in loan expansion. Loans rose by about 31 million in four months, excess reserves fell about 22 million, bond activity driving the change.
