Aguinaldo May Be Deal In Manila Reported Death Near La Gat
Major March with the Thirty third regiment pursued what is believed to be Aguinaldo’s party on May nineteen at La Gat northeast of Vigan. An officer believed to be Aguinaldo was killed or wounded and his body removed by followers. Aguinaldo and about one hundred men fled through forest and streams as Americans pressed the insurgents, capturing two and killing four in the La Gat outpost. The diary and papers found reflect anti American sentiment. The force pushed toward Aparri by May twenty nine.
