The county held its common school diploma examination on May 14 and 15 at Lamar Granada Holly Sunnyside Clay Creek May Valley Clover Meadow and Pleasent Valley. Diploma requirements match last year with an average of 80 and minimum 60. Ninety winners carry over top grades for next year. The Eight Grade Class of 03 produced strong results with 72 applicants from sixteen schools.
Forty two seventh grade pupils took part in the examination for hold over grades and a long roster of diplomas will be awarded in Lamar in late August.
