Local Notes From Carlton July 10 1895

Carlton residents share social visits from Lamar to Granada. Hail storms reach Wichita county and a mare is seriously injured by a kick at W Leonard’s stable. Church groups meet with hopeful attendance and a Christ centered program planned for July 14. Alfalfa seed prospects look modest with twenty five percent of first crop standing. Minnie Billingslea hired to teach eight months at Wells district school.

Grain cutting delayed by rain and drizzle continues

May Walier reports grain cutting is two weeks late due to weather. A fresh rain has fallen and drizzle has persisted since Tuesday evening, while Mrs. W. EK. Tattle remains noted in local gossip.
