Jail Inferno at Cheyenne Destroys Local Prison
Fire consumed the Cheyenne jail sometime between six and seven in the morning on Sunday. One inmate, Freak Johnson known as Stonewall Johnson, was inside and likely suffocated as rescuers could not reach him. Police officer Parker had placed Johnson in a cell to sober up about six o clock. The fire started from within the cell and the building collapsed with only a charred lamp remaining. Johnson, aged years old, left with no friends and likely set the blaze with his own hands.
