New Pupil Additions And Staff Moves At Local School

Twelve new pupils joined during the week and Prof. Hamilton started his reading circle every Tuesday at 7 p m in room 5. The library gained 101 new reference books. A school funeral for Mayor Vanersdale drew wide attendance and Mrs. Merrill formerly Miss Lee was remembered. Miss Bearce moved from kindergarten to primary. Resolutions mourn the mayor and drape the council chamber for thirty days with publication in the Lamar Register and Lamar Sparks.

Howard Keen of Lamar and Judge Nowells of the U S land office visited Granada this week on business. Miss Louise Merrill returned to Trinidad to resume school. A D Barton witnessed the Russell Graden wedding. Artesian well depth nears 200 feet with coal and coal oil found. Miss Zetta Graden wed Wm G Ressel at the bride’s home on January 9 with Rev C R Laporte officiating.
