Church notices list pastors Rev J G Hoke and Rev C Wesortt with Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. Services at 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. May Valley House gathering at 3:00 p.m. Others invite attendance for weekly services and calendar events.

R C McNeil’s child with a fractured arm improving. taken to Lamar for treatment. L K E Alexander visited Granada for teacher examinations and will teach XY school this winter.
The river is fordable again at this place. John F. Craig traveled to Pueblo on Monday. Martin Graham made a county seat business trip earlier in the week. R. Thompson moved his family from Kiowa county to the neighborhood. Mrs Embree and Mrs Browning visited Mrs McMillin during the week. Mrs B Finke and family visited at M M Priddy on Monday and Tuesday. A L Embree is at home this week very ill and threatened with mountain fever.
The Santa Fe offers round trip tickets from Lamar to Rocky Ford for 2.55 and to Albuquerque for 9.05, with return limits through September 7 for Rocky Ford trips and September 30 for Las Vegas and Albuquerque visits. Watermelon Day special train departs Lamar at 8:00 am arriving Rocky Ford 10:15 am for 2.00 round trip on September 5 1895. Inquiries to W. E. Cade, Agent.
