Granada News Sparks and Flags Across Baca County

Fraternal and civic society notices from May Valley era

A lengthy fragment lists meeting times and invites for I. O. O. P Lamax Longe 80 and various fraternal orders, including A. Van Dersen N.G. and HEATON A. F. A. M. group, plus G. A. R. Kir Carson Post 59, Women’s Relief Corps, and other lodges. It also references O. M. A Texan pen, I. O. C. F Grawapa Lopex 75, G. A. BR. Proeros Post 47, and church events with pastor J. D. Duane, plus local Sunday services at May Valley School House and Granada churchs, inviting members and guests alike.

General Delivery Hours and Mail Schedule

Open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday hours are 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. The schedule of mails for the South, West, and East routes lists departures at 7 a.m., 10:47 a.m., 2:05 a.m., and 6:17 p.m. with routes noted as avenues De Me and others.

Miss Jessie Wilson plans to go east in a few days while Mrs Rowe expects to leave this week for Omaha to visit her daughter. Miss Fannie Brown of Indiana should arrive soon to teach the Pleasant Valley school. Miss Flinn will return to Caddoa this week and teach there in the coming term.
