A satirical town notice outlines poverty dress codes demanding women wear a proper poverty dress and men with certain attire pay fines. It lists fines for various garments, mentions a kommitte to inspect strangers, and warns of refreshments and a strict, humorous enforcement. Also includes an old letter list, excursion rates, and a drug shop ad for McLean Bros with a county drug department grad.
The document compiles temperance pledges, anti saloon arguments, and quotations from Iowa Commonwealth and Lt Leader praising prohibition. It highlights community calls to abstain from intoxicants, church and social reform links, and cites a senator on per capita costs of saloons. It ends with moral exhortations and grace filled reminders about striving for virtue.
