A large meeting of Lamar and Prowers county merchants discussed the Merchants Return Commercial Agency. Hageman of Chicago explained the system to protect retailers and members voted to form the Prowers county branch with officers W. J. Johnson and I. H. Myers among others. The aim is to deny credit to known deadbeats while preserving honest merchants and voluntary cash practices.
