Old Slouch's Dilemma Ends With Borrowed Farewells
A comic tale follows Old Slouch, a young long-distance author who boasts he can write two novels in six days. On a trip with friends to Long Island City he clings to 27 cents, tries to borrow to pay his fare, loses his chances, and ends tangled in a web of tricks and debts before a midnight escape aboard a train. Tim drains him of funds. Jake pays the fare, and Old Slouch ends up nursing the loss as a wedding surprise looms for Sally.
