GRF rejects Bridge Club tournament request, funds approved
Golden Rain Foundation denied two Bridge Club requests for a two day sectional tournament in August and a reduced room rate. Vote 5-2 against both, with Joan Milliman and John Luebbe in favor. Club allowed monthly events at Clubhouse Seven for 160 dollars. Bridge Unit 525 holds an annual two day sectional in February. Linda Ryder cited room rates rising from 415 in 2010 to 1008 in 2015, calling it prohibitive. Ryder urged exception rate for main lounge and 160 for Bridge Room, noting revenue loss to GRF. Debate followed at the board meeting as Luebbe said the extra tournament could bring revenue and let residents earn silver points.
