Coyotes Draw Fresh Concern in Laguna Woods Neighborhoods
Residents report more daytime coyote sightings in Laguna Woods amid ongoing drought and nearby wilderness. A July 16 incident saw a coyote seize a dog on Via Serena, but no severe injuries occurred after bystanders intervened. City officials note no nationwide rise in attacks, but historic measures allow licensed trapping and euthanasia. Authorities urge residents to secure trash and avoid feeding wildlife to curb the problem.
