Whale mother and calf delight southern California beachgoers
A mother and baby gray whale frolicked near Dana Point Harbor and Laguna Beach drawing crowds. Dana Point Harbor patrol and Orange County Sheriff arrived to monitor. Whale watchers, Todd Mansur, observed 35 feet of water activity from May 7 through later stops at Three Arch Bay and Laguna Beach. He explained calves migrate 6800 miles to Alaska after Baja births, learning by shallow-water exercise.
