Pacific Marine Mammal Center volunteers guide Drew and Ella back toward shore before both dive out of sight. Drew carries a satellite tag worth about 3600 dollars that records dives, depth, temperature, and salinity as part of a six-pup tagging effort. Data will map pup movements via GIS to assess rehabilitation success and behavior after release.
