El-Bermani debuts Private Moments in Laguna studio exhibit
Alia El-Bermani, a Laguna Beach artist and recent Laguna College of Art & Design graduate, prepares a ten painting series titled Private Moments for display at DNFA in Pasadena this month. The works show intimate scenes of thought during daily tasks, including a portrait of musician Billy Horner writing a song, ballerina Lila Zali in a mirror, a friend unlacing her bra, and a woman with pill bottles reflecting illness and care. The series blends dark gray underpaintings with private inner visions. El-Bermani balances painting with ongoing ballet training at Laguna Beach Ballet and previously trained with the Boston Ballet. DNFA in Pasadena is the sister gallery of the Diane Nelson Gallery on Forest Avenue, guided by Diane Nelson. For more details call 494-2440.
