The Rusk county special train to the National Dairy Show in Minneapolis carried 126 passengers from Hawkins and Ladysmith with stops at Ingram Glen Flora and Tony Exeland. The group, led by W A Blackburn as scorekeeper, arrived in St Paul after overnight travel and attended events featuring Brown Swiss Ayrshire and Guernsey stock.

Stockholders Meet at C of C Rooms Over Volkman Purchase
About eighty members of the proposed Rusk County Farmers Cooperative store met in Chamber of Commerce rooms to raise funds to buy Volkman grocery stock and buildings including the meat market. They did not raise enough cash and plan a follow up meeting Saturday Oct 22 hoping to finalize the deal. Notes exist for stock but cash is hard to obtain on sizable notes.

BE H Scott of Mur ry has undergone three blood transfusions from his son Everett for pernicious anemia. The first transfusion occurred in July and the last in mid September. A Greek farmer A Pappas traveling sixteen miles to Ladysmith drew police eyes when a suitcase was found during visits to Olympia Confectionery and a Boston shoe shine parlor run by fellow Greeks. Officers searched the shops and found only a can of cucumber pickles a can of yeast and a flower. No arrest was made and the mystery remained.

Soldiers funeral to be held Sunday
The body of Charles Hellopeter arrived from France this afternoon. Fifty other soldiers who died in France were brought to St Paul. The remains will lie in EMinghoe's undertaking rooms until Sunday afternoon at St Pauls Lutheran Church. Mrs Josephine Hellopeter is expected from Stanley. Charles Hellopeter was killed in action in the Argonne days before the Armistice.

An Associated Press report tells of Dr J W Blake a Ladysmith physician wounded after a hunting companion mistook him for a bear in the Big Horn mountains on the Powder River 100 miles from surgical help. Lindahl Starts Farm Improvements Near City
Charley Lindahl and a crew have worked three weeks on his SQ-acre farm one mile south of the city.
