The Class of 07 held commencement at the opera house with a full audience. Readings, a vocal solo, and a piano piece highlighted the program along with diplomas from Prof. McCormick. The alumni banquet at the Baker Hotel followed, with toasts and solos.
A buggy mishap four miles from Keystone left Rev J W Hadden and his wife bruised and injured after their horses bolted and were halted by 12 year old Pauline Petska. Mrs Hadden suffered a hip injury, while Rev Hadden sustained a minor arm hurt.
Regular services planned for next Sunday morning and evening. Woodmen memorial services at 2 30 p.m. Mrs Lawson of the State W C T U to lecture in the evening. Sunday school at 10 a.m. All are invited by Rev. Thomas Barker.
Sunday afternoon services with Sabbath school at 2 and preaching at 3. Sermon titled Faint yet Persuing. Prayer meeting Thursday at 7:50 at Mrs. Kiefer's home. Ladies Aid Society meets June 5 at Mrs. Lepley's home. All welcome. Rev. D Jayne, Pastor.
A union meeting is planned at the Congregational church on Sunday evening June 2 under the W C T U. State Vice President Mrs Lawson will speak. She will also meet members Saturday afternoon at 3 in the church parlors and address the young people at 7 30 Saturday evening. All are invited to attend.
G Kilgore sold his Worden avenue restaurant Monday to Will and Henry Dempewolf who will continue the same a few weeks then plan to stock a confectionery.
The Bethany Sisters stage a one act drama A Little Game with Fate at the opera house next Thursday evening June 6. Cast includes Helen Morton Else Seee Rose Rooney Mrs W M Walker Genevieve Naight Ingre Ruby Manley Mrs Batters Mrs J A Michaelson. A good musical program will also be given. Admission 15 cents.
Land transfers recorded from Eau Claire firms to individuals and companies. Notable deeds include Thornapple to C. W. Hinzie for $2880 and J. L. Gates Land Co. to Rosa cons for Lot 12 in Ingram. Multiple entries reference blocks, sections, and tracts with prices ranging from $360 to $14280.
Special correspondent reports G E Newman added thirty three head to his ranch last week. Miss Alma Dahl closes School District No 3 year with souvenirs for scholars. Miss Alice Welter visits Hebron friend Belle Conklin. Second annual Shaw Dam picnic features scholars parents fishing and boat riding with twenty eight at dinner.
Local telephony notice invites parties to contact L. E. McGill regarding telephone service matters.
Louis W. Claude of Claude and Starck met the Madison Carnegie Library committee Saturday. They discussed the design and agreed the basement could house the County Teachers' Training school. The committee then decided to engage Claude as architect, praised by the State Free Library Commission and Galena board member Miss Felt.
R H Burns and his wife from Richland Center visited Ladysmith over the weekend. Burns has been elected principal of the County Teachers' Training School which will open here on September 1. He brings wide experience in normal and teachers training schools.
A new partnership Andersen and Bogue is formed by Attorney A. N Andersen of this city and David Bogue of Madison. Bogue will relocate to Ladysmith at once to begin practice.
F D Carter of Lake Nebagamon and Martha L Raddatz of Ingram were united in marriage on May 28 in a ceremony described as intimate and festive. The couple will reside in the Lake Nebagamon area and begin their life together with family and friends in attendance.
A crowd of about twenty guests gathered at Mrs. John Dunahee's East River Street home Sunday to celebrate her forty six birthday anniversary with a generous dinner. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Spencer and many Dunahees and Houpts along with Mrs. Campbell and Miss Mabel Houpt. A church group note also mentions an upcoming optical event and a June 6 church sale with items for sale and refreshments.
The Decoration Day ceremony in Ladysmith drew large crowds. A procession led by Io M Worden moved from the G A R Post hall to the courthouse area for speeches by Rev O A Britton and Mayor Cardinal. The Ladysmith Band and fire department performed, with songs and recitations by local students and veterans. The old soldiers later visited the cemetery to decorate graves.
The Common Council in special session appointed Dr. L. M. Lundmark Health Commissioner. A Board of Health was formed with Nate Hand James Carter and J L Dean representing the First Second and Third wards to locate a dumping ground for city garbage. The council adjourned to next Tuesday evening for the regular meeting.
Notice forbids all dumping of garbage tin cans manure or deleterious matter in Ladysmith streets and alleys by order of the Board of Health.

Town of Flambeau residents clash over location for a new bridge across the Flambeau with three proposed sites under discussion. Security Bridge Co. of Minneapolis has a contract for the original site at 8400, not yet signed by all officials. Local donors consider alternative sites near Ed Worden’s place with a $2000 pledge and land for park grounds, while city and town leaders debate the best crossing.
