Three Fire Calls Spur Quick, Light Damage
Three fire calls Sunday and Monday caused little damage. The first, near the police hall, slightly damaged a roof with unknown origin. The second at Chris boarding house involved a roof hole from a locomotive spark and was put out before firefighters arrived. Monday morning a small blaze at the paper mill near an outdoor oil tank was quickly extinguished with minimal damage.

G J Hochstettler, living four miles northeast of Exeland, farms two properties and has shifted from Short horn cattle to pure bred Guernseys.
