Death of Charles Sobolewski at St Mary's Hospital
Charles Casmir Sobolewski, 33, died of pneumonia Monday at St Marys hospital after five weeks illness. Funeral held Wednesday at St Marys church with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Sobolewski, a Mitchells Camp 2 worker, came to the hospital January 27 and had no relatives in this country. he was a native of southern Russia.

Ladysmith installs a citywide fire signal network atop the water tower with eleven distinct light signals to indicate fire location. Charles Pearson age 60 years 11 months 21 days died at his Crane home Wednesday about 1130 p m from dropsy gangrene and heart trouble. He is survived by his wife and three children. The body was taken to Stanley last night and the funeral and burial occurred there today.

Nine Cars Derailed In Local Yards After Noon Wreck
East bound freight No 16 derailed in the city’s east end around 3 PM. An arch-bar failure sent one wagon off track causing nine cars to derail with minimal damage and no injuries. Passenger No S84 followed shortly using a passing track to bypass the wreck.
