Max Zimmerman of the Original Market Day Booster is in Ladysmith to develop a modern market day planned for July 15. The new county bridge east of the city was accepted by the committee on Saturday with grading left for approaches and a road to Gunderson crossing to run straight east. Death by own action on Maple Hill
Joseph Kodetek aged 61, a Maple Hill resident, ended his life by hanging with hemp cord after leaving a pulp room shift at a paper mill. A 12 year old boy found him suspended on a sapling near new streets. a bystander severed the rope but Kodetek was already dead. He was an Bohemian immigrant who had a widow and two grown sons.

State road law creates joint town county state highways
The new road law establishes a state highway commission and joint highway construction by state, county, and town.
