William Curtis known as Willie was arrested for reckless driving and brought before Justice Kirwan. The case was continued until Saturday after his car slowed at the hill near the City View bridge, backed up, crossed the bridge, nearly collided with another vehicle, dodged a team, shed a fender, and nearly struck a horsewoman driving a horse.

Not Guilty in Rusk Obscene Language Case

Three Men Arrested Over Booze Possession in New Auburn Area
Jake Schwartz Emil Welker of New Auburn and Ray Waterhouse of Bloomer were arrested Wednesday evening for possessing intoxicating liquor. Their hearing is set before Justice Kirwan. M Littlejohn observed the car zigzag then crash on a hill west of the Littlejohn home. A satchel with three gallons of booze and a damaged car were found as footprints were tracked in the snow. Welker owned the car with Waterhouse driving and Schwartz as passenger.

St Marys High defeated Tripoli 40 to 19 in their season opener at Tripoli on December 21. St Marys led 15 to 9 at halftime as Tripoli employed a four man defense. Walter Oghlifs hit two long shots as George Chris Hayes and Ed Herron sparked the second half rally. Carl Zielke led Tripoli with ten points.
