Winter Short Course Enrollments Grow For Ladysmith Farm Boys
Able instructors offer an agricultural course valued for all participants. Seven boys enrolled by Tuesday as winter sessions begin January 15. The class will use a renovated gymnasium room and feature lectures by Carl Livingston on land clearing with dynamite. Each student will build a dynamite thawer and stump puller model. Evening meetings will cover methods with farmers in county districts.

Charles Castle longtime Glen Flora station agent died Saturday night from stomach cancer. He left a wife and one son. Undertaker L N Edling prepared the body and the remains were moved to Beaver Dam for the funeral.

The agricultural representative spent several days near Hau Claire with Henry Kater and A. T. Atwood buying two carloads of high grade Guernsey and Holstein cows. Death of Mrs. Eva Shrofe at 70 in City
Mrs. Eva Shrofe aged 70 died Saturday at her son Dan Shrofe’s home from stomach and intestinal trouble. She leaves two sons in the city and other relatives. The remains were taken to Weyershauser for burial Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W. H. Storm conducted the funeral at Weyershauser.

Congress revised the revenue law effective January 1 1917 removing the four eighty dollar annual tax on tobacco dealers and repealing taxes on lag tobacco brokers and capital stock excess over ninety nine thousand dollars. Three Drainage Projects Planned in Rusk County
A petition has been filed in circuit court to establish the Rusk Farm Drainage District in the town of Rusk with parts in Stubbs. The plan covers about sixteen sections and includes three separate drainage systems with open ditches and tile drains to reclaim marshy land. The district will span land along the Rusk area and tributaries with boundaries published in this issue.
