County Buys Poor Farm In Rusk County
Rusk County supervisors approved the purchase of H W True's 340 acres adjoining Glen Flora for 10000 dollars to serve as a county poor farm. The site includes a large heated house, ample stables, 80 acres cultivated and 280 acres pasture. The move aims for economy and potential self support with revenue prospects.

Elmer Nelson Visited Sister After Train Injuries
Elmer Nelson who lost both legs this summer after being run over by a freight train visited his sister Mrs. F Lambrecht from Saturday to Tuesday. He was with his father in law Mr Johnson of Minnesota who went to Chippewa Falls hospital after him. They traveled to Mr Johnsons home where Mrs Nelson has stayed for over a month. Nelson says he feels as well as ever though he cannot yet use crutches and must be carried.

Highway Robbery near Apollonia Injures Foreman
Dan Fox a section foreman on the R N at Apollonia Wis was robbed and beaten while returning from Bruce. He was struck with a broken sewing machine part had about 30 dollars stolen and suffered a fourteen stitch head wound and a broken hand. Police arrested a suspect at the Soo depot who later confessed and was taken to Ladysmith.

Bruce highwayman captured hours after crime
The Bruce highwayman was jailed 16 hours after the crime. He claimed the name George Egan age 19 born in Sonora Mexico. No accomplices found. Marshal Quiggle, busy of late, jailed another man for ten days for stealing shoes from Bill Coney at camp after a failed escape and gunfire.
