Knife Fight at Rusk Christening Ends in Assault Charge
At a Rusk Wisconsin christening party held Monday at Alex Bedowski’s home a fight broke out between Mike Romanszon and Joe Waltz. Romanszon faces assault with intent to injure and Bedowski is charged with possessing intoxicating liquor. Mrs Waltz sustained severe finger injuries while trying to protect her husband. Witnesses say moonshine fueled the conflict. Romanszon was imprisoned in Ladysmith with a Friday adjourned hearing after he failed to obtain counsel. A warrant was issued for Bedowski.

A small crowd gathered for a last minute concert featuring 14 year old pianist Dalies Frantz and his mother soprano Mrs. William Frantz. Dalies, despite his youth, recently won a grand piano in a regional contest and performed with his mother in a program spanning classics, English airs, piano pieces and sacred numbers. Mrs. Frantz, Denver based soprano, is noted across Colorado for her wide range and sustained tones. Anton Plante is building a brick residence north of Brucerd about a quarter mile west of city limits.

Big Sedan Runs Off Grade Near Bass Lake
Gerald Maloney and passengers including his mother Eunice sister Norris Viola Shaver and Neal Slocum escaped injury when a spindle failure loosened the steering and sent their big sedan off the grade near Bass Lake west of Weyereyehauser.
