Farm owner buys threshing machine near Ladysmith
Clay Wallace, owner of the Clyde Crandell farm ten miles northwest of Ladysmith, purchased a Minneapolis threshing machine from Hein Implement Co. and began threshing in the neighborhood on Monday using his Case tractor for power.

G C Maloney broke a rear axle and a hind wheel of his sedan on the Bruce road Thursday afternoon. Kenneth Beck attempted to pass and ran off the south bank Tuesday, bending his front axle. Lugene Copp struck a stone Tuesday, bending his steering gear and causing the front wheels to toe in. Gene wobbled to town on his own power.

Local residents buy Fordson tractors and Ford touring cars
Henry Johnson of Glen Flora and A. Crouse of Sheldon purchased Fordson tractors and plows this week. Wm. Dodson and Myrtle Chamberlin of Ladysmith, A. D. Franklin of Glen Flora, and D. H. Macdeslan of Bruce each bought Ford touring cars in the past week.
Library Robbery Strikes Ladysmith Saturday Night
Two public buildings in Ladysmith were burglarized Saturday night. The library cash drawer was pried open and $15 stolen. The high school remained untouched, though its rear window was forced and doors tampered with. Police searched for two suspicious men seen near the court house yard earlier, reportedly in a Ford, as residents request better exterior lighting for the north court house area.

Methodist Sunday School Picnic Ends With Tight Baseball Finish
The Methodist Sunday school picnic at the fair grounds featured a 14 to 13 ten inning baseball win by Congregational boys over Mr Dregne’s class. Don ald Vaughan scored the final run in the tenth. Prizes included grapes, ice cream tickets, and refreshments. Evening events included races, a sack race, tug of war, a ladies relay, and cracker-eating contests.

Mrs Flora De Muar Dies of Apoplexy at 51
Mrs Flora De Muar age 51 6 30 died Monday at home near Tony from apoplexy. The funeral will be Friday at 10 from Tony Methodist church with Rev C W Emery officiating. She is survived by husband and children Charles Fred Margerite Edna and Esther.

Accused John Marek Discharged in Moonshine Case
John Marek, arrested July 27 at his home in Rusk by Sheriff Maloney and Under sheriff Miller for unlawfully manufacturing intoxicating liquor, was found not guilty in municipal court. Evidence showed a barrel of mash and three gallons of moonshine on a forty acre tract. no possession or still found. Marek denied knowledge of the moonshine.

Sheldon Defeats Gil Man 4 to 1 in Tight League Game

Four Cows Die From Poison on Highway 438
Four cows died after drinking poison mixed to kill potato bugs on highway 438 at the Rusk-Sawyer county line. The incident was reported by F. Schrear who did not learn the owner’s name. Schrear is working on the TB test in Murry and expects eight testers in the week to cover the county.

Stolen Car Recovered in St Paul Case
Loren Clark and Cecil Calkins drove a Clark Chevrolet bought June 13 to Minneapolis. The car was stolen Tuesday evening and found abandoned in St Paul Wednesday morning. About $40 of goods were taken. Eight cars were stolen in Minneapolis that week. this was the only one recovered.

Arrested on Old Charge in Ladysmith Area
Peter Barten was arrested at his home south of Ladysmith Sunday night by a U S government officer and taken to Superior to answer for making alcohol in October 1920. He was fined $1000 at La Crosse and draft sought on that amount, which he did not pay.
