NLRB Case Load Climbs as Elections Rise in 1946
The NLRB reported 2,064 case filings in December, up 49 percent, with 178 alleged employer unfair labor practices and 61 by unions. Backlog reached 5,339 cases, 39 percent pre August 22 Taft-Hartley date. Union shop elections made up 521 of 796 elections. 90 percent voter turnout. AFL and unions showed strong gains in union shop outcomes and union bargaining efforts nationwide.
