La Marque School District runs 27 buses with 25 in daily use to serve over 2,600 students. Each morning load carries 72 riders, with two Special Education loads door to door. Buses cover about 42 trips daily, average 25 route miles, and consume 231 gallons of gas. The district maintains its own fleet, purchases new buses every 2–3 years at around 10,000 dollars, inspects vehicles regularly, and employs 30 drivers, eight of whom are teachers.
