Cougars Defense Stifles Yet Fall To Longview 3-0
La Marque suffered a 3-0 loss as Longview dominated with a sharp defense and two strong drives. Five La Marque turnovers and three by Longview on a slick field crippled both offenses, while Longview mixed runs and a 32 yard field goal to seize the lead in the second quarter. The Cougars stalled in the red zone and could not capitalize after several breaks, as Floyd Simmons and Melvin White produced key returns but the offense sputtered.
