Mrs Partain Hosts La Marque Garden Club Meeting
Mrs John Partain presides at the first 1972 73 La Marque Garden Club meeting in her home on North Noble Road with 30 members and guests. New members Adrian Celli Grimes and Claude Hudkins join. Club donates 20 chairs to the Scout House and reports ribbons won at the Galveston County Flower Show in Arcadia. A summer garage sale and a Christmas Bazaar planned after Thanksgiving.

DKG Opens Year Of Activities With Coffee
Members of La Marque's Epsilon Sigma chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society began the year with a coffee and workshop at Daisy Stone home. Committees planned projects, proposals were voted, and yearbook assignments set. Guests included Patricia Plunkett from Alpha Austin. Next meeting features a salad supper October 2 at Guaranty Federal social room with a brief business meeting and slide on the international convention.

Jan Maters Guest Speaker At Texas City Art League
The Texas City Art League opened its fall season on Monday September 11 at the Nessler Civic Center with guest artist Jan Maters a Dutch Master painter living in Channelview. Maters who studied in Rotterdam has helped restore Da Vinci The Last Supper and is famed as the fastest brush in the West. Mrs Maters is also an artist. Yearbooks for 1972 73 were distributed and Alfred Lee Gallery Houston will offer 12 art courses from Sept 25 to Nov 18.
