Joyce Dade and Roy Lee Wilson were married on October 27 at Rising Star Baptist Church in Texas City in a double ring ceremony attended by family and friends. Rev. D N Benford led the service with organ music by D N Benford Jr and vocal by Orine Robinson. The couple will reside in Texas City. Joyce attends Galveston Community College and Roy works at Gulf Chemical and Metallurgical Company.

The Weed N Wish Garden Club hosts the 13th annual Christmas in the Pines Tour of Homes on December 1-2 from 1:30 to 5:39 p.m. Proceeds support the Railroad Museum Center restoration. Homes include Mr. and Mrs. James P. Simpson and others at 2701 Frostwood Circle and 1621 Pine Drive with themes of Country Christmas and Memories of Christmas Past. A Christmas Bazaar at the Railroad Museum Center offers cakes cookies and candy, with gratis coffee from Club trustees.
