August Margot Celebrates 84th Birthday in La Marque
August Margot of La Marque was honored with a birthday party hosted by Miss Pauline Bogatto at her home. Attendees included Louis Margot Jr, Henry Vauthier, Mrs Wee Bogatto, Mrs Alice Ostermayer, Mary Vauthier and Elaine, the Pert hius family, Alice and Norman Frost, and Mrs Max Burris and spouse, all longtime La Marque residents. The event noted Margot’s birth on April 23, 1888, and his role in local dairy history with the Margot Brothers Dairy. He later worked for Nunez Construction, and remains active in reading and outdoor hobbies.

Arrington was elected president of the La Marque Jaycee Club at the annual banquet. He has six years in the organization, previously serving as secretary director and state director. Law Enforcement Banquet Set May 5
The second annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet sponsored by the La Marque and Texas City Jaycees will be held this Friday night at the La Marque High School Commons. Dinner starts at 7:30 and will be catered by Gus's Bar-B-Q in Texas City. The banquet honors officers who have shown devotion to protecting lives and property above the normal job requirements.
