Voters may cast ballots during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The school board election will be held Saturday April 7 at La Marque High School. Voters will use the same voter registration procedures.
Frederick Storaska, noted lecturer, will speak at 8 PM March 19 in the Fine Arts Theater at College of the Mainland on preventing assault against women. The talk covers myths about rape, attack patterns, attacker profiles, and practical reactions for women. Admission is free. all are invited.
La Marque Fire Department answered 18 fire alarms in February including four house fires, three vehicle fires, six grass fires, and five trash fires. In the first two months of the year the city logged 40 alarms, with 11 house fires, nine vehicle fires, nine grass fires, and nine trash fires. One bomb threat was reported and one building fire occurred during the period.

The Tenth Annual Galveston County Fair and Rodeo and Trail Ride Association invites Trail Riders to apply. The three day Trail Ride and ten day Fair promote agriculture and livestock in Galveston County.
