Lutheran Scout Association to Elect Officers in Friendswood
The Lutheran Association of Scouters Bay Area Council meets Monday June 5 at 8 pm to elect officers and board members at Hope Lutheran Church Friendswood Texas. All Lutheran Scouters or men working with Lutheran sponsorship are invited to attend. The Missionary Society of Rising Star Baptist Church distributed scripture tr\nav ecards at Galveston County Memorial Hospital in May. Mrs Gussie Baldwin chaired with Mission No 2 as co chairs. Three La Marque Schools Receive Accreditation
Three La Marque public schools have been recommended for continued accreditation by a study committee of the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. Superintendent Dr. Eugene Tenney said graduates can attend colleges without extra tests if they meet college requirements.

Pastor Helms Leaves La Marque After 14 Years
Rev J W Helms of Highlands Baptist Church will soon depart La Marque for Baptist Temple Church in Victoria after nearly 14 years.
