District Director Hoyt H. Harris of the Immigration and Naturalization Service announced a future requirement for aliens in the United States to report their addresses to the Attorney General. Most aliens must report by the end of January each year, with sole exemptions for accredited diplomats and certain international organization representatives. Forms are available at post offices or INS offices in January, and penalties for noncompliance are severe.

La Marque School Board accepted Walker Boyd’s resignation from the board seat and elected Dr Lilian Lockhart as vice president. A special election will be held in April to fill the remaining 15 months of Boyd’s term. Jaycees To Honor Special Citizens Dance Week Start
The La Marque Jaycees plan a January 16 dance at the Elk's Club to kickoff Jaycee Week. The event honors individuals who supported Jaycees projects over the past year, with Taco Benders 10 piece orchestra. tickets are $4 per couple at the door. Phase II Immunization Announced by Galveston Health Dept
Phase I of a three phase immunization program has been completed offering diptheria tetanus pertussis and oral polio vaccines to various age groups across Galveston County. Phase II will start January 11 with DPT DT and oral Sabin polio vaccines for ages 2 months to 19 years, followed a month later by Phase III. Vaccination clinics will be held at multiple schools and sites including Stewart Elementary Hitchcock Santa Fe High School La Marque Lake Road Elementary and others with a Sunday catch up session. Rubella vaccine will be offered to females aged one to ten. physicians will administer.
