Strawberry Festival Set At Lutheran Church
Trinity Lutheran Church in La Marque hosts its annual Strawberry Festival on April 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. Esther Circle chairs the event with Mae Thielemann and Doris Anderson as festival heads. The gate features arts and crafts displays, handmade items, a puppet show, bean bag throw, hot buttered popcorn, hot dogs, and strawberry shortcake for all.

Cadette Scouts of Troop 642 announce a two day camping trip from May 4 to 6 to earn outdoor badges and others. They worked on the My Government badge with Mrs. Marina Lieban of the League of Women Voters, compared Parliament and Congress, and discussed state and local government. Four girls joined the Candidates Rally by LWV Texas City La Marque, gathering questions for candidates. Cadettes also pursued Textile Arts with embroidery under Mrs. Nita Sterling, attended Sea-Arama in March, and are led by Troop Leaders Mrs. G L Lessa and Mrs. Henry Everling.
